Ocamica Tudanca arquitectos, Peña Ganchegui Prize 2021

The architects Iñigo Ocamica and Iñigo Tudanca, who make up the Ocamica Tudanca architects practice, have won the third edition of the Young Basque Architecture Prize.

2021 Jury meeting

Meeting last weekend in San Sebastian, the three members of the Jury of the Peña Ganchegui Award 2021, Isabel Concheiro, María González and Elías Torres, reviewed the proposals for the third edition of the Young Basque Architecture Award. Assisted by the coordinator of the award, Mario Sangalli, they were joined by the representatives of the organising institutions, Rocío Peña (Peña Ganchegui Archive) and Pablo García Astrain (Basque Government). The deliberation session took place in the Council Chamber of the Basque Institute of Architecture, the same space that will host the award ceremony on 7 October. During this event, also the finalists will be unveiled, which will be the subject of an exhibition that can be visited from 27 November as part of the third edition of MUGAK, the International Architecture Biennial of the Basque Country. photo: Pablo Axpe

Enrolment deadline extended

The enrolment deadline for the prize, which the rules established as 7 July, has been moved to 25 July.

The Peña Ganchegui Prize 2021 has been announced.

Ninety-five years after the birth of Luis Peña Ganchegui, who died in 2009, the third edition of the biennial prize that bears his name is announced. Aimed at architects with less than 10 years of experience, graduates or with activity in the Basque Country, the prize was created in 2017 by the Peña Ganchegui Archive in collaboration with the Basque Government.

The architects Ane Arce and Iñigo Berasategui, members of the AZAB studio, have been the winners of the second edition of the Prize to the Young Basque Architecture, awarded by the Peña Ganchegui Archive in collaboration with the Basque Government.

Selected the finalists of the 2nd edition

The Jury of the second edition of the award to the Young Basque Architecture, formed by architects Eduardo Mangada, Eva Prats and Moisés Puente, has selected Amaia Arana; Ane Arce & Iñigo Berasategui; ELE arkitektura; Carlos Garmendia; LA-NA architects; and MUGARA as finalists.

2019 Jury meeting

At session held in San Sebastian last July, at Basque Country Architecture Institute, the members of the jury of the 2019 Peña Ganchegui Prize, Eduardo Mangada, Eva Prats and Moisés Puente, selected six finalists of the candidacy set presented.

The architects interested in compete for the second edition of the Basque Young Architecture Award have until 24:00 today, Tuesday 14 May, to register, and until July 2 to submit their applications.

2018/08/04: The Peña Ganchegui Prize exhibition goes to Bilbao

After it stay in San Sebastián, where it has been shown both in the Miramar Palace (during the MUGAK Biennial) and the School of Architecture, the exhibition of the Peña Ganchegui 2017 Prize transfers to the Delegation in Bizkaia of the COAVN (Mazarredo 69- 71, Bilbao).
