2025 Edition
In its fifth edition, the PEÑA GANCHEGUI AWARD for Young Basque Architecture went to the AMA architecture studio, formed by Jaime Gutiérrez and Itziar Molinero.
2025 Winner
The jury for the 2025 Peña Ganchegui Award, made up of Carme Pinós, Begoña Fernández-Shaw and Ángel Martínez, awarded the prize to the AMA architecture studio, praising the consistency and delicacy of its work, which demonstrates a sensitive attention to detail and place, while intertwining research with the practice of ephemeral, light, flexible projects that engage in a happy dialogue with diverse contexts, enriching some larger environments with small gestures.
2025 Mention
The jury also awarded a special mention to the candidacy presented by Borja Martínez, a member of the Interplay studio. In doing so, it wished to recognise the remarkable collection of projects carried out, fuelled by an interesting series of competitions, which attest to professional solvency, formal talent, strategic value and intelligent discourse.
